Designed by i29, Dentista - a new dental clinic in the centre of Amsterdam - has taken a soothing green hue to define a relaxing environment and the company’s professional services. In addition, the pairing with natural woods, abundant greenery and plantation and an open plan layout sets the scene of the surroundings and make visitors feel immediately at ease.
Both the architectural design and brand identity have been conceived by i29, to create a unified and clear tone of voice for this first location of the Dentista dental chain spanning close to 3,000 square feet. Sharp lines and clean white practically and intuitively refer to medical professionalism, while a central garden and roof lights radiate natural light through the whole practice, providing nourishment for plants and people alike. The space has been cleverly planned - lush greenery separates waiting clients from the busy street outside, while the sharp angled green zone and reception desk separate the waiting area from the treatment rooms.
In the heart of the treatment area a hidden courtyard garden provides views on nature and daylight in the treatment rooms. Atypical to the standard dentist experience of sterile surroundings, one is surrounded by a feeling of peace at Dentista, as one lays in the dentist chair and looks up at the large round roof light offering views of the sky. Special rooms at the back meanwhile, accommodate state of the art technology including the X-ray and sterilisation room. Share the designers, “Our design strategy was to bring together a clean fresh medical environment and a health inducing wellness experience so patients feel comfortable and at ease.”
Dentista aims to be a high-end practice for everybody and anybody who is serious about their health and beauty. With eight treatment rooms, the practice is big enough to be fully equipped with the latest technology but still feel personal to each client. To ensure full commitment and the best quality work of all dentists and specialists Dentista is organised as a cooperative to secure full involvement with the patients and the practice.
